About Me
Rebecca McLafferty is a wife, mother, and grandmother who writes primarily Christian fiction and devotions. She takes her position as writers’ group leader seriously and thrives on its Christian comaraderie. She enjoys reading various genres not limited to Christian fiction, historical, and devotions; and various non-fiction genres.
When not reading or writing, Rebecca is often found in the kitchen, pursuing culinary passions. While employed full-time, she taught enrichment classes over the years...things like cake decorating (she was certified in Germany), bread-baking, and holiday baking classes. In Wisconsin, she became state certified to sell everything from jams/jellies and ready-to-bake mixes to dog biscuits in her "Country Memories Mercantile & Alpacary" farm store. (No, alpacary isn't really a word!)
Rebecca is currently a Wisconsinite; however, years of living in Michigan, abroad, and across the U.S. have put her roots in all places “country”. Rebecca’s faith enables her to endure life’s trials. Her writing reflects the important of knowing God and relying on His mercy and guidance to make everyday decisions, knowing His peace and purpose mean everything.
As an adult college student at the University of Wisconsin, a frustrated English professor exclaimed, "This is crazy! Why are you not an English major?" Point taken. When you love to write, you write. However and whenever you are able to do so. Writing to glorify Christ is...well, it doesn't get any better than that.
A few years later, Rebecca co-founded the Pens of Praise Christian Writers Group. Over time, precious friendships blossomed within the group, as well as members' writing and mentoring skills. Rebecca also enjoys membership in American Christian Fiction Writers and Lighthouse Christian Writers groups.
The former hostess and emcee of the annual Country Memories Farm Christian Writers Conference, Rebecca has a background of hosting events and enjoys interacting with all ages.
She enjoys speaking--about --about Christian faith connections--and especially about the combination of those elements. She has speaks about farm life and country experiences (including owning alpacas).
She loves sharing the many blessings God has showered upon her and her family. Grab an umbrella and let's sing in the rain together!
